Reminiscences of the Taranaki War.

The Rev, J. Ward lectured on the above subject, under the auspices of the Mutual Improvement Society, last night. About ISO jersons were present, and Captain John Varren occupied the chair. We have already published a report of this lecture, which was on this occasion given for the 50th time in the North Island. The rev. lecturer kept the attention of his audience throughout, and enlivened the heavier parts of his lecture by relating many amusing incidents which excited the risible faculties of his hearers. Altogether the lecture was a great success. A vote of thanks to the Chairman, who related some of hie own recollections of the war, concluded the proceedings,
