ARRIVALS.
The Southern Cross arrived in the Bay at 7 o'clock last evening, from Auckland via way porta. Passengers: Mrs Lamb, Mrs Swainson and four children, and Mr C. Gray. The Australia arrived here from South yesterday morning. Passengers (ex Tongariro) : Mrs and Misses Ford (5), Messrs E. Ford, C. Ford, Green, Chas. Ford, A. C. Austin, J. Smith, and W. Matthews. From Napier: Messrs Hall, Irvine, Cooper, Gibb, Gitberd, Cookery, and six nativec. The Waihora came into the roadstead ihortly after noon yesterday, from Auckland and Bussell, bringing—Mrs Davies, Miss Kerr, Messrs Massey, Weittman, Fraser, and Flint. DEPARTURES. The Waihora proceeded on South last evening, taking Messrs Hewitt, Bux, Hayes, Burton, Button, Peterson, Taylor, Morse and Son, Harris, Bourne, Parker, George, Morgan, Maude, Greene, four Natives, and the football team (20). The Australia left for Auckland, after discharging cargo, last night, taking Dr. Pollen, Messrs Cole and Greene. The cutter Venus sailed for Napier on Thursday morning. IMPORTS. Arrived—Tongariro, at 8 a.m., from Wellington, Wellington’, Thursday. Arrived—Aahleigh Brook, at 3 p.m., from Rookhampton. Sailed—Tongariro, at 7.45 p.m. on 17tb, tor Port Chalmers. Lyttelton, yesterday. Arrived—Kahu, from Chatham Islands. A violent easterly gale has been blowing in Sydney, and the vessels Bannockburn, Hastings, and Agnes have been driven ashore in the harbor. The boats Fawn and Spurning have broken up. On Thursday morning at 11, the Union Company’s steamer Hauroto, and at 1 o'clock the Ellis Line steamer Duplex passed Pakarae. Bo th vessels were bound for southern ports. The Wairarapa arrives from south early to-morrow morning. She goes on to Sydney and Auckland, the last launch leaving the •bore at 9. The Wakatipn is due here on Sunday morning, from southern ports. She leaves for Auckland direct at 9.
