Auckland, lari nigh, At the Folios Court yesterday, Charles Edward Beckman,' formerly a publican at Bkriehqna, in the Walrarapa district, was charged with being an absootiding bankrupt. The prisoner denied the charge, stating tiikt he was merely visiting Auckland. When arrested only £l3 was found upon hint, but by his inrirucrioas his wife gave the police £250 from the bosom of her dress.
