LAND TAKEN FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF HARBOUR WORKS AT GISBORNE, PROVINCIAL DISTRICT OF AUCKLAND. ONSLOW, Governor. A PROCLAMATION. WHEREAS the lands mentioned in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken, under ** The Public Works Act, 1882,” and its amendments, for a certain work, to wit, tho construction of harbour works in the Turaaganul Survey District, Gisborne, Provincial District of Auckland : And whereas the Gisborne Harbour Board has laid before the Governor the memorial, accompanied by a map, and also the statutory declaration, as required by the said Act: And whereas the lands described in the Schedule hereto are the same as those mentioned in the second, third, and fourth paragraphs of the Second Schedule to “ The Gisborne Harbour Act 1884 Amendment Act, 1837 And whereas by section nine of the lastmentioned Act it is provided that the Governor may, if he thinks fit, by Proclamation publicly notified, declare that the said lands are taken for the purposes of the Gisborne Harbour works: Now, therefore, I, William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities in me vested by “The Public Works Act, 1882,” “The Gisborne Harbour Act 1834 Amendment Act, 1887,” and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the lands described in the Schedule hereto are hereby taken for tho purposes of the construction of the said Gisborne Harbour works. All in the Provincial District of Auckland; as the said parcels of land are more partioiilarly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 14,398, deposited in the office of the Minister for Public Works, at Wellington, in the Provincial District of Wellington, and tiierou coloured red. Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honou table William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, of Onslow in the County of Salop ; Viscount Cranley, of Cranley in the County of Surrey; Rayon Onslow, of Onslow in the County of Salop, and Of West Clandon in the County of Surrey; Baron Cranley of Imbercourt; Baronet; a Member of Her Majesty’s Most Honourable Privy Council; Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George; Governor and Commauder-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this twentyfourth day of July, in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and eighty nine. WHATAUPOKO ROAD DISTRICT. NOTICE is hereby given that the Whatau poko Bead Board intends to execute a certain Public Work, and for that purpose to take from the Matokitoki Block the Lands described in the accompanying schedule. The Works to be done on this Road are Formation, Drainage, and Erection of Cui verts for the passage of surface water. Any person having any objection ta the proposed Works, or who may be injuriously affected thereby, is required to state such objection in writing and send the writing to the office of the Board, Lowe Street, Gisborne, on or before the Ist day of October, 1889.
