A FEW HINTS TO THS COMMITTEE. [CY A. FRAUD, ESQ.] As the question oi having Gisborne represented at the Dunedin Exhibition has been taken up in real earnest, I hope that every efforc will be made to get a genuine representation of the place. With that view, I think it would be desirable if you, Mr Standard, were to throw your columns open for a few suggestions as to how this can best ba done, and I take the liberty of assuming that,’ as usual in any case where the public good is concerned, you will reciprocate my view. A LIST OF EXHIBITS which I think ought to be sent. THE “BAY” OF POVERTY. Some of the queer cattle, relics of earlier days. Samples of Gisborne Whitewash, A few of Mr Rees’ schemes. A prospectus of the great Co-operative Society. Statement of results. A tusk of the famous White Elephant. The harbor loan prospectus of the good old time-?, The “ prospectus ” of the present. A eketch of tha westward reclamation. A thread of the Engineer’s screw. A few of those things that are all right when understood. The Harbor Engineer’s pleasure yacht, now lying in the river. - Ths plug that kept the oil in. The “ jar ” that spoilt the “jam.” The paraffin that- wasn’t fishy. A few of Hia Satanic Majesty’s favorite subjects. A record of Mr A. Graham’s Parliamentary “ work.” i A. bundle of Government’s broken promises. i Glass of mud—sample of Coaso roads l . Some pairs of Morell’s striking boots, including Sir Harry At-kinson’s hobnails. A few hundred of thn R.E.’s letters to the local bodies. An evening print guaranteed to twlet with every breeze, Brilliant sketch of the Tauwharsparae Block by Mr Bisvwright. A chapter of Micky Mullooly’a Law Court i Experiences, i Sums of ths Taloga Bay Court caeca, A rough sketch of the artesian well, by C.C.L.,Esq. Pal’d Reminiscences of the great Te Kooti Campaign, Cbum Brown’s equine trophy. The horse that didn’t boil with the Archibald Forbes of a Gisborne print.
