Charitable Aid Board.

The regular monthly meeting of the above i Board was held in the County Council I Chambers yesterday afternoon, when there I were present: Messrs Lewis (in the chair), 1 Dunlop, Coleman, and Taylor. i The Secretary said that after the month's accounts had been paid there would only be a credit balance in the Bank of £35 16. 6d. The Secretary said that one of the inmate, at the Old Men'. Homs, named Buroh, was causing a great deal of annoy.no. to tha other men. Buroh wanted the Board to allow him 10s per week and be would be willing to leave the refuge. Mr Dunlop thought that Buroh w.e quite *« capable to work and should not be now 1 receiving relief. 1 Mr Coleman eaid it was a pity they could V not put a law in force to make a man like that break stone.. It was deoided to inform Buroh that th. Board would decline to support him after a fortnight. With regard to Mre Hill, the Chairmen ■tated that her brother in Napier had agreed to keep her, bnt he thought that tome arrange, ment might be made eo that he would keep her until Hill was liberated. The Board might pey Mre Hili', peaeage to Napier. The Board agreed to leave th. matter in th. Secretary's hands. It was deoided to discontinue eupporting the following at the end of the month Mrs Quinney and family, Mr. Todd and family, Mrs Parson., Mr. Millar and family, and Owen Lynoh. Accounts amounting to £37 8. wue passed for payment. With regard to Mr. Millar’, oaee, the following letter from Mr Sinclair, of Anoklend, was read •—" The let. Win. Braybrok left na estate whatever.
