CABLEGRAMS.

London, September 29.

The trouble in the island of Crete threatens to become a very serious matter. Great atrocities have been committed upon the Christians, and it is feared that this will lead to grave international complications, in which England will be embroiled.

News from Rotterdam states that the dockmen there have gone out on strike, and a disturbance took place, the intervention of the police being necessary to secure the semblance of order. The infuriated mob assaulted the police, and viciously attacked them with stones. But the disturbance was quelled after some trouble.
