Hawkes Bay Agricultural Show.
(from our own correspondent.) Napier, last night. The Agricultural Show commenced yesterday, The weather was favorable, although cloudy. Only the sheep were judged and the attendance was principally confined to those interested in sheep.breeding. There was not a single imoorted merino on the ground —a remarkable contrast with what wan the case 8 years ago, when the chief prizs takers were importations. Messrs Boyae and Anderson (managers of the Milbourne Station) and Mr Douglas McLean took the principal prizes in fine onmbing, while in strong combing Mr D. McLean and the manager of the Woburn Station divided ths honors. In Lincolns, Measrs H. R. Russell, J. N. Williams, and T. H. Lowry were the principal prize takers, In Cotswolds Mr G. D. Hamilton swept the board, as did Mr G. D. Wheeler in Romney Marsh. In Southdowns Messrs Nelson Bros, and H. F. Tlffen divided the honors. The weather tp-day is glorious, and being a genera! holiday the attendance is larger. The judging of the sheep continued, and was conc’udsd. In Lincnlng the prizea for the Champion and Grand Champion Bam, and Champion Ewe, were awarded to Mr J. N. Williams. There was a good show of horses, cattle, a d agricultural implements, poultry, sheep dogs, sporting dogs, dairy produce, wool, etc.
