Lyttelton, last nigh Arrived—Kahu, at 2. 5 pan., from Chatham Islands.
Sai'ed—Ship Otaki, at noon, for London. Sailed—Barque Nanny, for Falmouth or Queenstown, for orders. Arrived—Ruapehu, from Wellington. Arrived—Manapouri, from Wellington.
The s.i. Fairy left Napier on Saturday last, and on the passage* up she encountered a heavy N.E. gale, which compelled the little steamer to take refuge under Portland Island until daylight on Tuesday morning. She arrived ia the bay the same day, and yesterday morning the Fairy went up the river to discharge her cargo of timber at the Freezing Works. This afternoon the s.s. Australia arrives from North. She goes on South in the evening, the last launch leaving the wharf at 5. The s.s. Hauroto, fmm Sydney and Auck land, is due in the bay about I o’clock to-morrow. The last launch leaves the shore at 4.
The ss. Southern Cross arrives from Napier early to-morrow morning.
