The workmen, however, are protected under the Waues Act. Government have in hand about £5OO due to the contractor, and several workmen have taken steps to have tbe amount impounded. The Government have given the contractor notice to proceed with the work within seven days, otherwise fresh tenders will probably be called for. CuniSTCHVimit, last night.
