MR DAVITT APPLAUDED IN COURT.

London, October 81. Eviction) on the Olphort estate continue, and determined resistance ia being shown by the tenants. Four houses were fired in order to drive the occupants out. Mr Davitt concluded bis address before the Parnell Commission to day, and was loudly applauded. The Court did not attempt to suppress the applause, and Sir James Hannon complimented Mr Davirt on bis speech. The Bill tor the Crown purchase of land in Ireland is promised for next year, Cole, the principal in the uweedora murder of Inspector Marlin, has been sentenced to ten years' penal servitude, and his accomplices have been sentenced to terms ranging from seven years' to six months' imprisonment, Father Macfadden haa been released on bail.
