The Irish Delegates.

THEIR ENTHUSIASTIC RECEPTION IN AUCKLAND.

Auckund, last night. M-ssrs Dillon and Diasy and Sir Thomas Desmond arrived by the Zsalandla lest night, and had a most eathueiastio reception. They went to the Star Hotel, and Mr Dillon came out on the bale any, and addressed the multitude, and expressed ths gratitude ot the delegates for the warmth and enthusiasm shown to them, which was t great enoouragmeat, fighting as they were a very severe struggle. He recognised amongst those present voices mt only of his own countrymen but of others who were not Irish, but had come from a noble and disinterested spirit ot sympathy, to show they had a heart to sympathise in a just and honest cause. He thanked them the more heartily bees use it was more disinterested and more kind for them to come and meet the Delegates then it would be if they had Irish blood in their veins. la conversation Mr Dillon said that while in Australia the delegates did not speak to any Premiers or publio men on the subject of their mission, which was that of publio delegates.

The Irish delegates arrive in Gisborne by Friday's st‘tuner, which will bo delayed so as to give them an opportunity of addressing n meeting here. A meeting of persons interested in the success of the reception of tlie dolegitee in Gisborne will be held at tho Hotel this evening. A letter commenting adversely on the proposed reception was received too late for insertion in this issue.
