[to epitob.J Sir,—As a townsman I would like to point out an incident in connection with Mr Rees’ meeting which is hardly in accord with the spirit of fair play. When the resolution ot confidence in Mr Reas was put to the meeting two oquqtry gentlemen voted against it. As you have mentioned the name ot Mr E. Richardton 'I may say I adnilra a man who has the courage to express hia opinions, though as a returning officer I think Mr Richardson ought to abstain from taking an active part in politics. But that aside, I suppose that the two country elector! who voted against the resolution in Gisborne will do the same in the country districts, and that they will come in town and also be in the country to support Mr Arthur, Ido not think that sort of thing fair.—J am, etc., Field.
