Mr Dillon’s Farewell
[VMM on OWN COBBXSVONDKin,] Wellington, last night. Mr Dillon took a farewell of the Wellington branch of the National League at the Club Hotel last night. Then was a large gathering. —Mr G'Gonnor, M-H.R { ot Buller, on behalf of the wmpahy, expressed regret at Hosing the piah Delegates, and especially Mr Dil'on. Dr Waters proposed Mr DiUon’e health, Mr DUlon, in reply, said the Delegates' mission had been a greater success than he ever anticipated, the cum of £6OOO having been contributed by New Zealand to the lands. Hs spoke in terms of high praise of the way in which they had been assisted by the Press and prominent men in the colony, IM espeoially mentioned Sir R. Stout among Ute latter, He aiso paid < flattering oompli ment to the climate of New Zealand, saying be bad improved in health during his two OtoDtbi* Btt/o Nr Dillon left today tor Christchurch.
