abbivalfl The Union Conwany’s coastal steamer Australia (Captain J. Gibb), from Wellington and Napier, arrived in the bay at an early hoar yesterday morning, bringing—Mrs Steele, Captain Creagh, Messrs W. Cooper, W. J. Willcocks, J. Williams, and Swayland*. The s.s. Southern Cross left Auckland on Tuesday, and called in at coast ports on the way down, arriving here about 2 o’clock yesterday afternoon. Passengers: Miss Green, Messrs Lewis, Douglas, and Hutchinson. DEPARTURES. Ths S.S. Australia went on north yesterday The Southern Cross steamed on to Napier last evening, taking—Mrs Adeane, Captain Rowlands, Messrs Hammond, E. F. Harris and Tiffen. IMPORTS. The schooner Waiapo arrived in Auckland on Thursday week hat, from Gisborne via Intermediate ports. On the same day the schooner G&borne also reached Auckland, from Awanui. Yesterday afternoon the loeally-owned brigantine Kenilwo th came into port from Tonga Bay. She landed the plant for the flax mill at the latter port. The as Manapouri arrives in the bay at 1 o'clock to-day, from Auckland. She goes on South in the evening. Last boat at 5. Last evening the Union Company's se, Tekapo left Wellington for Sydney. She calls in at Napier to-day, and arrives here early to-morrow morning. The outward passengers leave the wharf at 7. Yesterday morning the barque Peru was taken in tow by the steam launch Snark, and brought up to the usual anchorage in the bay, where she will now commence loading wool for Home. The topsail schooner Awaroa (Captain G. Page) sails for Napier to-day.
