THE EPIDEMIC EXTENDING. THOUSANDS OF WOMEN PROSTRATED. London, Jan. 5. The influenza epidemic is spreading rapidly in England, and some of the cases are of a mild Russian type. Two hundred of the General Post Office employees are down with the disease, and some of the cases are said to be very jbad, Amongst those attacked by infloenza are—the Empress Augusta, Dr Dollinger, of Bavaria, and the Bight Honor able Henry Chaplin, The mortality in Paris and the provinces has been heavy. Out of 12,000 women employed in the French Government tobacco factory only 50 are able to continue work.
