In the Arms of a Monster.
CAUGHT BY AN OCTOPUS, (FROM OUB OWN OOBBESrONDXNT.) Timaru, last night. A diver named Collis, while working under about 20 feet of water, on Saturday, at the slip way, was seised by an octopus of six feet six inches spread, which also got hold of tbo timber slip, Collie had the presence of mind, on seeing the creature coming, to hold his arms to avoid having them pinned, and ha was thus able, with much difficulty, to pull himself away by the lift line, end walk to and climb the ladder, with the ootopue aroqad him.
