London, Jan. 27 It is considered probable that tbe Western Australian Constitution Bill will be reintroduced into tbe House of Commons without any amendment. Lord Knutsford has informed Sir Wm. Robinson that, in bis opinion, it would be inadvisable for him (Sir William) to take any active part in farthering the B-U, The Federation League of Canada is debating a proposal to impose an Imperial Import Duty of 5 per cent, to provide for the expenses of defence, diplomacy, cables, and steamship subsidies. An amendment will be moved that the proposal is p-ematura. Sir P. Da Keyser gave a banquet at Guildhall to New Zealand recipients of honors and grand prizes at the Paris Exhibition. Mr Parnell, the mother of the Irish leader, has, it is alleged, been living on a pittance of a shilling per week. The American extradition treaty includes dynamiters in its provisions. The barque Loch Moidart, from Chili to Hamburg, has been wrecked and thirty persons were drowned. It is believed most of the crew- were shipped in Melbourne, and they comprise nearly the whole number of persons drowned. The influenza has been the cause of many deaths in Canada, and tbe wife of the Governor-General is among the patients. News from Waabington states that a train has been derailed at Winsville ; it took firn and six passengers were burnt to death and twenty were injured, some very seriously. January 28 Mr G. A. The Public Prosecutor will indict Benzon for forgery, tbe private prosecution having been withdrawn. The Prince of Naples will shortly pay a visit to Australia. Paris, January 27. During a storm in ths Channel the sea invaded Havre and submerged the outlying portion of the town for twenty inches.
