London, January 29. The Hon James White’s horses are improving in favour, especially Narellan. At a meeting at St Jamea’ Hell the Irish Land Purchase proposals were denounced. Colonel Kaetlegan has been Gazetted British Consul at New Caledonia and New Hebrides. Sir W. Gull, the well known physician, is dead. Sir Wm. Robinson hae been interviewed by a representative of the Pall Mall Gazette. He said that Melbourne was the real capital ot Australia. It was likely, be remarked, that the approaching conference would produce Federation for purposes of defence, but he was not sanguine that a political Federation would ba speedily brought about. MusowiK, Jan, 29. Italy is pacifying Adowa on behalf of King Mcnelek, of Abyssinia, but repudiates any idea of occupation. Cuao, January 29. Emin Bey is improving in bealtb.
