The Fire Brigade Team.
The team selected to represent Gisborne at the Colonial Fire Brigade’s demonstration at Wellington—consisting of Messrs Morrison, Fox, Wildish, Mitchell and 4Uen (Thompson emergency)—last evening bad their final time praotico before leaving Gisborne. Thoie jvss a good attendance ot the general pu)>lfo, aqd each event was watched with interest. It must fiaye been a considerable strain on the men to follow up the events consecutively (vith anoh rapidity, Owing to Mt Bn>alll, the Engineer, not being able to attenc), a efort coqld npt fie made so early as intended, but six events were gone through in a most satisfactory manner, the men appearing te be liFgrand fettle. The team leave for Wellington, by tomorrow'a steamer, an entertainment being given this evening to provide funds for defraying the expense. Ten men, experienced in the work, have volunteered to set for the Brigade during the absence of the team in case of an outbreak of fiie. Superintendent Townley accompanies the team io Wellington! They can best anything Gisborne has previously been able io do, and it oan already claim oredii tor great sums io the uintul fireman's fforlt,
