The Ship Turakina.
About S o'clock on Tuesday afternoon the New Zeeland Shipping Company's handsome ship Turakina was sighted in the offing, Captain Bennett (pilot) shortly afterwards boarded the vessel and brought her to an Anchorage off the red buoy at 6 o'clock, Captain Power brings Ms Ship into port in fine trim, this being his second visit to Gisborne. The Turakina is a large, sub-stantial-looking iron ship of 1180 tone register. She is fitted with one of Balsam's largest sized (2000 square feat) refrlyer tors, and has OH board a quantity of ! * ■ * and wool, Which was shipped at Nau At. i!he deck Officers are—Mr Stevens, chief; Mr CP mpbell, second ;Mr Hull, third. The Turakina had rather a tedious passage of five days from Napier ; nothing but light winds and calms ware experienced on the trip up, and on Monday evening a favourable breeze sprung up, but owing to the extreme darkness Captain Power deemed it advisable to keep off the land.
