It ia stated that fully £30,000 was lost in the Albury district last year through the prevalence of ruat in wheat. The Rev. R. Kinsman, of Fitzroy (Vic.)* has been committed for trial for marrying a girl under age without her parents’ consent. At the Maitland Circuit Court, N. S. W., in the breach of promise action brought by Esther Mona Stuart against John Duggan, a verdict was returned for the plaintiff with £lOOO damages.
