ARRIVALS.

TheU.S.S. Company’s s.s. Southern Cross arrived in the bay on Thursday evening from Auckland via way ports. Passengers : Mr A. H. Wallis and two natives. Tbe U.b.S Company’s s.s. Australia, from Wellington and Napier, came into port yesterday morning. Passengers: Miss Jenkins, Dr Campbell, Messrs Stopford, Fordham, Pellegrim. Stairmand, and Symonds. The topsail schooner Awaroa arrived from Auckland via Mercury Bay yesterday morning. The U.S.S. Company’s s.s. Wairarapa arrived in the roadstead shortly after 2 O’clock yesterday afternoon, bringing—Mrs Colebrook and child, Mrs Wall (2), Miss Landon, Master B. Fox, Messrs Searle, Gordon, O’Leary, McKenzie, and Carter.

[DEPARTURES. The schooner Waiwera sailed for Auckland on Thursday morning. The Colonial Union Company’s s.s. Maori King returned to Napier on Wednesday. The following is a list of the cargo shipped at this port:—2B bales greasy wool, valued at £398, shipped by Common, Shelton and Co.; 35 bales scoured wool, valued at £529, 21 casks of tallow, valued at £ll5, 8 bales greasy wool, valued at £9l, shipped by the Loan and Mercantile Co.; 12 tierces of beef, valued at £3O, 31 casks pelts, valued at £239, 149 casks of tallow, valued at £1031; 103 bales slips wool, value £1959, 3 bales greasy wool, valued at £37. 7292 carcases of frozen mutton, valued at £5094, shipped by Messrs Nelson Bros. The s.s. Southern Cross went on to Napier at 2 o’clock yesterday afternoon, taking— Mrs Cogswell and two children, Mrs E vinson and child, Mr Cameron, Constable Pardy and prisoner. The 8.8. Australia left for Auckland last evening. Passengers ; Mr Cullimore and twelve Maoris. • The s.s. Wairarapa resumed her voyage south last evening. Passengers: Miss Bussell, Master Wilkie, Messrs Prior, Green, Adams, Farrell, Wallis, Maguire and child, and four Maoris.
