Production of Mr Murray’s Drama.

NO FEAR OF SETTING THE WORLD ON FIRE. [special to the STAXDABD.] Auckland, last night. Mr Christie Murray’s new drama “ Chums,” the plot of which is laid in Otago, was produced for the first tim« in New Zealand, by the St. Maur Company, at the Opera House to-night. It is clear that “Chums” will not set-the world on fire. One manifest weakness is the absence of dramatic situations, and the dialogue, though well written, is too prosy for comedy-dama. The piece, however, is cleverly played, and may go off well yet.
