Wharf Laborers’ Union.
A meeting of the wharf laborers was held on Tuesday evening io the shop the use of which was kindly allowed f>r the occasion by Mr Crawford. Messrs B'air and Olivier Were ballotted for and elected members. On ths proposition of Mr Greame it was decided to write to tha Harbor Board to asoertain it that body will erect a shed on the wharf, so that the men instead of having to wait in ths cold and wet would have a nlaoeof shelter to go to. a place which oould also be made available for passengers by ths Snark. The Union man, he said, would guarantee to keep such a place clean and tidy. If the Harbor Board ref use to take action in tbs matter • belief was expressed that the general public would assist in defraying the oost, and th* men will gladly contribute towards it,
