SHIPPING.
ARRIVALS. The U. 8.8. Company’s Southern Crops arrived from Auckland on Saturday morning. The U.S.S. Company’s Tarawera came into port on Sunday morning, from Wellington and Napier. Passengers : Messrs Bees, Ward, Winter, Parker, Stevens, Elwood, McHardy, Hume, Stoddart, Shrimpton, and six steerage. The schooner Gisborne, from Auckland via East Coast ports, arrived here on Sunday night. DEPARTURES The i.i. Southern Cross left for Napier on Saturday. Thes.s. Tarawera went on to Auckland on Sunday, taking—Messrs Steele, Loomb, G. B. Bloomfield, Tntchen, and P. Bourke. IMPORTS. Per Tarawera—s barrels ale, Dunlop and Bourke; 1 case, Clothing Factory; 100 boxes candles, 25 hexes soap, 1 case blacklead, 2 sashweights, 1 keg arsenic, 2 cases, Common, Shelton and Co.; 1 pci, Lewis; 1 case, Whinray; 1 box tea, Adair; 3 cases axes, Graham, Pitt and Bennett; 10 cases kerosene, 5 boxes candles, 2 boxes sultanas, 1 case axes, 1 truss. 4 cases, 3 pkgs, orders ; 17 pkgs. Common. Shelton and Co. Per Southern Cross—l 63 bags salt, 8 cases, 1 crate, 60 bunches bananas, Graham, Pitt and Bennett; 1 sack oysters, DeCosta ; 20 cases, Lewis; 1 case, Prichard; 1 saw, 1 spring, Wingate, Burns and Co.; 1 ease, Common, Shelton and Co.; 1 case, Kennedy and Evans ; 2 bdle, 1 box, B. Bobb; 45 pieces timber, 26 pkgs, 8 cases, orders. Per Gisborne—lo sacks charcoal, Common, Shelton and Co.; 16 tons charcoal, 5 tons '"Joel, 27 doors, 3 pkgs sashes, Kennedy and Brans; 4500 ft timber, Townley ; 2 oases beer, I Mees brandy, 3 esses whisky, 10 sacks lime, 8 tuna Newcastle coal, orders. EXPORTS. Per Southern Cross —lB sacks maize, U'Ben; 9 bales wool, 1 bdl skins, 40 eacks tosis”, orders; 19 seeks maize, Common, Shelton and Co.
TELEGRAPHIC. Auckland, Sunday. Arrived—Australia, at noon, from Gisborne. Yesterday. Arrived—Tarawera, at 10.45 a.m., from Gisborne. Spit, Saturday. Sailed—S.S. Star of England, for Lyttelton. Bluff, yesterday. Arrived—Wairarapa, at 410 am., from Melbourne, with English mail. Lyttelton, yesterday. Arrived—Broomhall, from Sydney. Arrived—B.s, Star of England, at 8.15 a.m., from Spit. The barque Matanrs (Captain Martin), of the New Zealand Shipping Company's line, is expected to arrive here this week to load with frezm meat. Since her last visit to the Colony the Mataura has had het freezing chambers considerably enlarged. Formerly she carried only 8,000 carcases of mutton, but now she carries 11,000. At this port she will take very little besides mutton, and theref ore loaded 2600 sacks of wheat at Lyttelton. The barque is at present at Napier discharging a quantity of cement fir the harbor works. Ths schooner Waiwers, from Tairau, and the cotter Venus, from Mercury Bay via the coast, are now due here. Both vessels are laden with timber and coal for Messrs Clayton and Sawyer.
