The Sultan of Turkey has laid claim to the country lying between Tripoli and the Egyptian frontier. The Bill providing for cession of Heligoland to Germany passed its third reading in the British House of Commons.
Hofermeyeir and President Kruger have agreed to the settlement of the Swaziland dispute in favor of the Transvaal Republic. The English Liberals are cabling to Sir T. Mcllwraith, of Queensland, asking him to contest the Ayre Borough at the next general election. The Union Bank of Australia has declared a dividend of 14 per cent., and carried £ 15,000 to next year.
