A large meeting of religous people formed a strong committee to manage the approaching mission of Mrs Baeyentz, aj|jewieh evangelist. The Tramway Company gave way to the employees, and will reinstate the meal who were dismissed for joining the Union. The Rev. Father Mahoney, Vicar General, died yesterday morning. The Te Anau sailed south to-day. Passengers for Gisborne—Miss Grattan and Mr W. B. Bloomfield. Respecting the call to Mr Byburn, your readers will be interested to know that the Bev. Mr Byburo is a well known Auckland boy. He was the bolder of the district scholarship at the Auckland - College and Grammar School. Since then he his been a very successful student at Auckland University College, where he held one of the college scholarships, and from which he obtained his B.A. degree. He won several theological scholarships, and then proceeded to Dunedin to pursue hie theological studies. Last year he completed his course, passed his final examination, and was admitted to the Ministry. The present is bis first call. Mr Ryburn bas not yet decided to accept the eall, but it is believed he will do so.
