SHIPPING.
ARRIVALS. The steamer Fairy arrived from Napier on Thursday morning, bringing a cargo of timber for the freezing works. The schooner Gisborne, from Auckland ▼ia Coast ports, arrived here on Thursday morning. The cutter Venus arrived from Napier on Thursday afternoon. The U.S.S. Company’s Australia, from Auckland, arrived here on Thursday evening. Passengers: Messrs G. F. Longdill and Brown. The U.S.S. Company’s Southern Cross arrived from Wellington and Napier yesterday morning, bringing Miss Courtney, Messrs Liddle, Porter (2), and Rutherford. DEPARTURES. The b.s. Australia left for Napier on Thursday evening, taking Messrs McKay, Ramsay, and Bingham. The bs. Southern Cross went on north yesterday afternoon, taking Mr Bobb. The steamer Fairy returned to Napier yesterday morning.
