FOOTBALL.

On Saturday afternoon a soratoh match was played. As it was desired to allow everyone to join in who wished to do so, the sides soon numbered considerably more than the usual fifteen, but this made the game all the merrier.

It Is now believed that the pakeha teams have muoh the better chanoe to win the cup, and there is a good deal of interest as to which fifteen will prove victorious on Saturday. Some of the tnetnherc of the younger Club are regularly attending the gymnasium, so as to get themselves into good condition. The following team haa been selected by Turanganui Fullback. C. Lewis ; three quarters, Skee*, Matthews, Hepburn; halfbacks, Maude and Wade; forwards, Loomb, Nisbett, Marshall, Robinson, Crawford, A. DeCosta, Featon, Skipworth, and Nazer: emergencies, Burna, Morgan, Dunlop, and King.

Tha Gisborne Club have selected tbefollowing team to play against the Turanganui next Saturday : -Full-back, Langford ; three-quarters, Hutchinson, Suite, and Rees; halves, Fisher and Dods; forwards, Lysnar, Allen, Smith, Bslamy, Martio, E. Johnston, Bull, Mouat, and McPhail. Emergencies, Bingham and Watson.
