SHIPPING.
ARRIVALS. The U.S.S. Company’s s.s. Te Anau, from Sydney and Auckland, arrived in the bay at 5 o'clock on Saturday evening, bringing— From Sydney, Mrs Lucas and child, Captain Chrisp; from Auckland : Misses Grattan and Campbell, Mrs Von Hagon, Messrs Harrop, Kays, and Tate. The U.S.S. Company’s steamer Mararoa came into port at 8 30 yesterday morning, from Melbourne via South. Passengers: Mrs Chalmer and family, Misses Couse and Stevens, Messrs Neal, Piesse, Johnson, Eskdale, Blair, and Dotts. DEPARTURES. The s.s. Te Anau went on South on Saturday night, taking Mesdames W. L. Williams and H. Williams; Master Nelson and servant; Messrs O’Dowd, Walker, Turton, Field, and Palairet. The s.s. Mararoa left for Auckland and Sydney at 11 45 am. yesterday. Passengers : Mr and Mrs Barker; Misses Tombleson (2), and Schofield, Judge Connolly, Mrs Day and child, Sergeant Carlyon, Messrs Barker (3), Tombleson, Bennett, and H. Boss. IMPORTS. Per Te Anau—2 case. Lewis; 1 sock oysters, Mrs Menzies, 13 kegs, Wingate, Bums and Co.; 3 cases fruit, Budd; and sundry pkgs, various consignees. Per Mararoa—l sack oatmeal, 2 sacks seed, L. and M. A. Co.; lease, 8 lengths pipe, 1 bdl spades. Palmer ; 1 pel, E. Chrisp; 5 cases, Clothing Factory; 100 boxes candles 7 cases tea. 1 pkg, 1 coil. Common, Shelton and Co.; "2 crates biscuits, 7 cases, 3 bags, 1 pkg, C boxes, Pitt and Maguire ; 3 cases, 1 bag, 1 sack, Whitby and l artington ; 15 cases wines, Dunlop and Bcnrke ; 3 cases tea, Adair; 1 pel, W. Parnell; 8 lengths pipe, 1 bdl spades, A. Parnell and Co. Per Gisborne—24 sacks, 3 tons salt, Common, Shelton and Co.; 5 esses biscuits, Adair ; 100 drain pipes, 20 coils wire, 5 sacks charcoal, 4 bdls spouting, 7 kegs nails, 4 pkgs, Wingate, Burns and Co; 32 water pipes, Brown and Smail]; 976 pieces timber, Robb. EXPORTS. Per Te Anau—l2 sacks maize, 13 sacks onions, Whitby and Partington; 13 sacks onions, Lewis; 40 sacks maize, 13 tierces beef. Per Mararoa —43 cases onions, 11 sacks onions.
TELEGRAPHIC. Lyttelton, Saturday. Arrived — Ship Cambrian, from Melbourne. Yesterday. Arrived — Northern Monarch, from Adelaide. Arrived—Barque Series, from Hobart. Sailed—Ship Crusader, for London. Napier, Saturday. Arrived—Fairy, from Gisborne. Sailed—B S. Rosamond, at 9 p.m., for Brisbane. Auckland, Sunday. Arrived—Southern Cross, at 10 p.m., from Gisborne. Post Chalmebs, Sunday. Sailed—S.S. Elderslie, at 7.30 a.m., for London, with English mail. The schooner Waiapu, from Auckland and Mercury Bay, came into the roadstead on Sunday. At daylight yesterday morning she left for Turehau, having on board 11,000 feet timber for that place. Owing to the heavy sea that was rising, she was unable to have any communication with the shore, and had to return here about 11 a.m. The Waiapu then came to an anchorage under Young Nicks Head
