WELLING-TON. Last night. A compromise has been made between the acting Premier and Mr Ballance'with respect to the Primage Duty Bill. It will be brought down at once, and ptit through’all stages without delay to legalise the collection of primage duty from March last till the end of this month, on the understanding that the primage duty will thereafter cease. NAEIER. Last night. In regard to W. Bra.sey'a bankruptcy at Napier, ths time for filing a statement has been ex'ended and the first meeting of creditors postponed to Wednesday, 3rd Sept.
