Though the extended space to which strike news is emitted compels us to compress much other information, we are always pleased to-open our columns to correspondence om public matters, provided the correspondents eschew personalities and write to the point. Long, prosy letters never find favor in a newspaper office, because in the arrangement of news, an editor must have regard for the majority of readers. J }
