Four thousand cases of cholera were reported in Spain lately. A Montreal reporter, who invented a story of Prince George’s arrest in a street quarrel, has been committed for trial. The Bishop of Cork has denounced O’Brien’s adovcacy of boycotting, and the plan of campaign.
The German officials at Bagamoyo deny the truth of the statement that decrees have been issued by Germany, allowing free trade in slaves. The Scotch ironmasters threaten to close 80 of their furnaces if the workmen insist on their demands for an increase of wages. The potato blight in Ireland (has spread to a deplorable extent. Meetings are being held to insist on Government interposition with relief measures.
