[TO THE BDITOB,] Sin,—To decide a small wager the following has been left. Mr your decision :—trthnrit* says that Mr Wm. S'enhenson ascended the platform and said, " I have much pleasure in seconding Mr Jovce’s proposition of a vote'of thanks in Mr Arthur,” &a., <fcc. Ree-ita says nn 1 but that these were the word. u>»d ;— •< I have much pleasure in seconding Mr Joyce's proposition of a vote nf confidence in Mj Arthur " <Sto , Ac. Bv kindly answering the above you would oblige,—l am, Ac , A Lraxsit. [Our reporter did not taka a full shorthand note of Mr Stephenson's words, hut his recollection is that Mr Stephenson said he would second “the motion” proposed bv Mr Joyce. Neither of the Herald’s representatives took a full shorthand note, but their reooVection also substantiates the belief that, the actual phrase used was “ the motion.”-Ed ]
