Mr Arthur at Tauranga.
(SPECIAL TO THE STANDARD.) Tauranga, last night,
Mr Arthur addressed the electors here on Monday night, at th* 1 public ball. There was a heavy thunder storm, and the atten dance wa l poor. The Mayor took the chair, and the address was listened to in silence. After some questions were answered, a vote of thanks was given. Mr Arthur advocated free tmde in Native lands, an advocacy which bus given general dissatisfaction. The opinion of those who attended the meeting is that he is a poor speaker, and will not carry much weight with the electors.
Mr Kelly has announced himself as a candidate, and will shortly visit your portion of the electorate.
Conservative electors hero are wishing that a good candidate would come forward.
