THE COUNTY ELECTIONS.
The County Council elections are exciting much interest in other parts of the colony, but in Cook County there has not yet been any particular indication of interest being taken in the constitution of the Council. The Cook County Council is a body that seems to give very full satisfaction as it is at present constituted, and many ratepayers have been lulled into an easy-going style, trusting that everything will come out right without their concerning themselves much about it, Possibly in these circumstances it will be as well to remind County ratepayers that nominations are to be made to day for the Gisborne riding, on Monday for the Waimata and Whataupoko ridings, and on Tuesday for the Waikohu riding. The new Council will have to deal with one of the greatest works yet undertaken by the Council, the erection of a bridge at Kaiteratahi.
