Each <‘rew will row one boat off in the new boat, rowing out the races to the finish, irrespective of where the losing crew may be left in the chase.
The political meeting at Ormond on Saturday niehf w a very goad tempered one, and a little fun was occasioned Mr Brownlow w.ib in a merry mood, and wanted to try anti catch Mt Kelly in a soft place, but O nlv served to “fe'ch” that gentleman and iroreußft his popularity, “Now, Mr Kelly,” said Mr B , “ I want to ask you a question, and I want it answered. Are you a Greyite, a K-llvite. or a Darbyite? ’ (Roars of laughter.) The candidate smiled good ia f ur«<iiy, but retained his peat, while the Chairman, when h” could resume his gravity, called out order, Mr Br<»wnlow, emphatically : I want an answer tn my question ? (Laughter.) Mr Kelly; Wil, my sympathies are with all three. This caused another outburst cf lauirh’er, and the sudiMnoe thought the merry one had collapsed. But he was up to lime on very short nn’iee, and began : Mr Kelly, I (with emphasis) want an answer ; yrs or no 1 (dramatically ) Mr Kelly : Y”S. (Laughter and applause.) Mr Brownlow looked puzzled, a-'-d wanted a de/luite answer. Mr Kelly: I said Yes. The merriment became still greater, and the tail end < f the joke dawning on Mr 8., he caused still more fan by dramatically saying : Wall, after that I’l retire.
