Be just’ and fear not; Let al 1 .the ends thou alm’st at be thy country’s. Thy G-od’s, and truth’s.
Mr Arthur addresses the electors at McFarlane’s Hall this evening. We hope that his opponents will see that he has fair play, and allow nothing to mar the good order that has so far been a characteristic of the election contest. There are certain little points an explanation of which has been patiently waited for, and for the good name of the place it is hoped some palliation will be offered. It will possibly be attempted to show that a misinterpretation has been made, and so on and so forth, and friends and opponents alike will await the explanation with some degree of interest. As the Opotiki and Tauranga papers have now circulated throughout the colony any attempted explanation will come very..la,le in the day.
