Arrangements are being made for a steam service between Auckland and New Caledonia. Me Hurry Farnill, who is standing for Auckland City, is likely to bo the third Liberal candidate. Alex. M.-Kenzie, a young man, has been killed by a kick from 11 horse at Obiwa. Tbo Chairman of the Charitable Aid Board telogruped to Government asking them to secure the benefit of Dr Koch’s cure for this colony, but they declined to take action till they had more definite information. To-day Mr David Goldie was nominated for Newton, Mr Monk for Wnitomata, and Mr Greenwood forEdcU.
