Them was glorious weather for the sports yesterday, but the dust in town made things wretchedly unpleasant for those who were going out to the sports. For this reason, although the attendance was large, it was not so good as it would have been if there were not such a dust-storm to face. The water cart was very conspicuous by its absence, and blessings were not showered upon those responsible for the absence of the cart for an hour at bast in the morning. At the Park everything was pleasant. The arrangements were capital, and the Secretaries and other officers carried out their duties in a way that gave full satisfaction. Though the Swann brothers were so successful, all the events were well contested, and the victories of the Coast representatives were very popular. The times recorded during the day were splendid, the high and favorable wind helping in the direction of record making.
