Arrived—S.s. Matatua, at 9 30 a.m., from Gisborne. Auckland, Tuesday. Sailed—Australia, at 6.30 p.m., for Gisborne. The schooner Gisborne, which arrived here on Sunday last, brought one passenger—Mr James. The steamer Matatua, of the Shaw. Sarlll, and Albion Company's lire, arrived in the roadstead a'. 7 o'elicx on Tuesday morning. She left Wellington at the *«nb hour on the previous morning, and thus accomplished the passage (289 mtiesj in 24 hours. The freeziug hulk immediately went alongside the steamer and discharged 5132 carcases of mutton. Mr Townley also shipped 9 tons of cheese from the Oook County factory. The Mautua completed her loading at midnight, at which huur she steamed for Napier, The Australia arrives from the North this afternoon. The s.s. Waihora is expected to reach here to-morrow afternoon, from Russell and Auckland She leaves for Melbourne and Hobart, via Southern ports, in the evening. The Southern Cross, from Wellington and Napier, is due here to-morrow morning.
