Shocking Poisoning Case in Brisbane.
A man named Mark Davis, residing at Spring Hill, Brisbane, late on a recent Sunday night poisoned himself and his three children, aged respectively nine, five, and two years. They were alt taken to the hospital. Davis died in the afternoon, but the children are recovering. Davis left the following note, dated twenty minutes to twelve p.m., Sunday:—“l have poisoned my three children with * Rough on Rats ’ and chloroform, and have taken a strong dose myself, I cannot fane lire any longer, and cannot leave my little ones behind me. You had better send for a policeman to break open the door.—Mark Davis." It appears that after administering ' R .ugh on Rate ’ to the chi'dren, he gave them ch oroform tn ease their pain. This caused them to vomit, and thu. saved their lives. Davis’ wife is an inmate of Woogaroo Lunatic Asylum.
