Hospital Trustees.
An ordinary meeting of th" Hospital Trustees was held last night. Pre-ent: Captain Tucker (chairman), Messrs Lunas, Watson, C. A. Brown, and Hepburn. The monthly report showed : Remaining from last month, 7 ; admitted, 5 ; discharged, 3 ; at present receiving treatment, 9. The Treasurer reported a credit balance nf £lO4 la 41. Accounts amounting to £77 Ila 6d were passed for payment. The Visiting Committee made a general report. The report was adopted, the Committee being instructed to attend to the matters authorised. They reported " Your Visiting Committee during the peat mnnth have found the management of the Hospital satisfactory. They learn that the nurse is leaving shortly, being about to fulfil tne highest mission of woman, that of matrimony, and as Miss Stewart cannot recommend the probationer for the vacant office, she desires to engage some one with experience for the vacant post, and although this may cost £lO extra per annum, we recommend its authorisation, on the ground that efficiency in attendance to our sick is more important than a too rigid economy, Miss Stewart has further applied tor blinds to screen the rays of the sun on the western verandah, We recommend cnmplianoe there, with, at a moderate cost. The cistern has been repaired as authorised. Learning from Mr Finneran that a force pump would be required tnr the nsw cis'ern, and that one could be obtained for £4 (ordinary cost £6), we authorised ths purchase of the same.—E. F. Harbis, Jorn Cqlkm.n.” The following tenders were received for the construction of a' 4000 gallon bonorete underground cistern: A, Taylor, £46; Robert Rohh, £46 9r On the motion of Mr Lucas, seconded hy Mr Watson, the lowest tender was accepted, Dr Innes made certain recommendations, which were ordered to be attended to by the Incoming Visiting Committee (Messrs Heptwu and Lucm), It was mentioned that the annual msat|ng of subscriber* will be held on January 8, when Messrs Qarris aud Watson retire by rgtaticn.
