Spit, Thursday. Arrived—Star of England, at 5 a.in., from Gisborne. Auckland, yesterday. Arrived—Omapere, at 1 a.m., from Gisborne, * The steamer Australia returns here from Napier early to-morrow morning. At 6 o’clock last evening the steamer Rotomahana left Auckland for Melbourne and Hobart, via Southern port?, and is due in the bay about the same hour to-night. The outward passengers will leave the wharf at 7. The steamer Waihora leaves Wellington this evening, and calling in at Napier tomorrow, arrives here at daylight on Monday. She goes on to Auckland, Bussell and Sydney at 6. The schooner Opotiki, which sailed for’ Napier last week, took the following cargo 42 bales wool, 17 part bales wool, 33 bags wool, 190 loose sheep skins, 25 bundles skins, 22 hides, 71 pelts, 3 bales pelts, 3 casks tallow, shipped by Loan and Mercantile Co.
