The Union Company’s steamer Australia arrived in ibe bay early on Sunday morning, from Auckland via East Coast port?, bringing—Mesdames Bower, Magunsson, Misses McGoun (2) and Wallis, Lieutenant-Colonel Shepherd, Messis Ford, W. Nolan, and two Maoris. The Union Company’s steamer Mararoa arrived in the roadstead on Sunday morning, from Melbourne via Southern ports Passengers : Mesdames Hill, Copithom, and Day, Misses Hird, McCluskie, Sutherland, Morgan, Townley, Sievwrigbt, Wright, Witty, Evinson, and Watt, Messrs Hill, Mann, Morgan and child, Townley, Adair, Woodhead, Thompson, Warren and son, Stephenson, Cullen, Egan, Day, Forest, Holta, and Braybrook. DEPARTURES. The Southern Cross steamed North on Saturday morning, taking—J.dge Barton, Meenis Jackson, Jones, and Harris. The Australia went on to Napier on Sunday evening. The Waihora resumed her voyage South on J-’Bturday night, faking—Mrs Karaiiiana and two children, Mrs Chiisp and child, Misses Howard and Barker (2), Master* Wilkinson and Bishop, Messrs Andrew, Hore, Morgan, Spurole, Groves, B -urkp, Karaitiana, Tighe, Shrimpton, barker (3), Bennett, Coirman, Loudon, Hume, and Somers. The Mararoa left for Auckland and Sydney on Sunday morning. Passengers : Mesdames Madder and Nicholas, Misses Recd (2), Messrs Time, Lambert, J. H. Stubbs, Johnston, and he Harvey Company (9). Last evening the steamer Orawaiti left for the South. The steamer Rangitira returned South on Saturday afternoon. IMPORTS. Alameda, at 230 p.m,, from Sydney, with a Brindisi mail. Yesterday. Arrived—Southern Cross, at 7.45 a.m., and Mararoa, at 11 a.m ; both from Gisborne. Bluff, yesterday. Arrived—Rotomahana, at 6 p.m., from Hobart.
The barque Lutterworth sails for London early to morrow morning. The steamer Te Anau. from Sydney, Russell, and Auckland, will not reach here till Saturday afternoon. The b.s. Southern Cross leaves Auckland at 6 o’clock this evening, for East Coast ports, and Gisborne. The Australia is also expected to leave Wellington this evening, for Napier and Gisborne. It is expected that the freezing hulk Prince of Wales will be ready to leave for Picton next month. B-fore commencing work again the vessel will go into dry dock at Wellington, where she will receive a thorough overhaul. The following vessels were in port yesterday : B -rque Lutterworth, s s Orawaiti, schooners Gisborne, Waiapu, Opotiki, topsail schooner Awaroa, and ketch Comet. The steamer Orawaiti arrived here yesterday morning from Westport, bringing a cargo of coals for the freezing hulk.
