A Warning.
[to the editor.] Sib,—l should like to draw the attention of those who make a practice of bailing in the river to Sergeant Carlyon’s intimation in Court not long ago that he would prosecute everyone, irrespective of the Borough by-laws, who exposed himself in a public place when there were ladies and children about. At six o’clock the other evening young men, without any covering, were disporting themselves iu the water near the Taruheru bridge while ladies were passing across it. Self-respect should prevent this ia future, and if ihat is not sufficient, perhaps the fact that Mr Booth imprisons without tfie option of a fine for ouch an offence may have a deterrent effect.— I am, &c., Decency.
