HIGH WATER—SUN RISES AND SETS

ARRIVALS. The schooner Waiwera (Captain Pankow) arrived here from Tairau on Tuesday last. Yesterday morning the steamer Kiwi arrived in the bay from Napier, and went alongside the breakwater to discharge a cargo of timber for the Kaiteratahi bridge. Passengers: Messrs Priers, Cunningham, Mossman, and Weir and party (9). TELEGRAPHIC. Auckland, Tuesday. Arrived—Kotomahana, at 2 p.m., from Sydney, Spit, Tuesday. Arrived—Flying Scud, from Newcastle. Sailed—Killeena, for London. Port Chalmers, yesterday. Sailed —S.S. Ederslie, at 9.50 a.m., for London, with English mail. EXPECTED ARRIVALS. Awaroa, topsail schooner, from Mercury Bay. Opawa, ship, from London, via Lyttelton. Saucy Kate, schooner, from Greymouth. Venus, cutter, from Napier. The steamer Kiwi leaves for Wellington this afternoon. The steamer Australia arrives from the North to-morrow afternoon. The steamer Kotomahana, from Sydney and Auckland, is due here about 1 o'clock to morrow. She go. s on South in the evening, the last launch going off at 5. The Southern Cross is due early tomorrow morning from Wellington and M-ipicr. The schooner Waiwera, which arrived on Monday last from Tairm, brought the following cargo : -20.000 ft timber, 1 ton lime, 12,000 ft mouldings, 42 doirs, 12 pkag sashes, 15 ton coal, 1500 empty sacks, consigned to Clayton and Sawyer ; also a quantity of timber for Kennedy and Evans and Sheet.
