A MAN FALSELY CHARGED WITH A REVOLTING CRIME. [SPXCIAI TO TH. STANDARD.] Dunedin, last night. At the Dunedin Supreme Court Andrew Manson was indicted for indeuent assault. When in the witness box the girl started crying, and refused to be sworn. In answer to questions she said she bad told an un* truth in the Police Court about accused, and did not want to be sworn. Eventually the girl consented to be sworn, and she then said that the whole story she previously nirrated concerning Munson was untrue. His Honor remarked that medical testimony was consistent with the innocence of tbo accused, end the Crown Prosecutor electing to go no further, the jury were directed to return a verdict ot not guilty.
