Supreme Court Sittings.

THE PAKEMATA CASE.

On Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday the evidence in what is known as tbe Paremata case dragged on wearily, the taking of the native evidence -especially' being slow and dreary work, quite devoid of interest to the general public. The object of the action is shortly to try and get a cancellation of deeds vesting certain land in tbe company, and if the present action is successful it would probably only be the thin end of the wedge to try and regain other land in the hands of the Company. Messrs Cooper and Finn are for the plaintiffs and Messrs JDeLautour and Chrisp for the defendants. At four yesterday afternoon the case was adjourned until to day, when some more formal evidence is to be taken.

The case M. J. Gannon v. Tuta Nihoniho, claim £420, was set down for ten this morning, an application by the defence to have it adjourned being objected to, and not granted.
